GET GROWING: SURVIVING SUMMER IN THE GARDEN
June 3, 2015 6pm – 7:30pm
Central Texas summers are scorching. While summer is a time of garden abundance in more temperate regions, here in Austin, it may be a struggle to keep plants alive. We will be talking about which veggies are able to tolerate the heat, how to maximize water usage in the garden, and how to create shade during those sunny days.
Grow Local gardening classes are all about learning solid gardening skills alongside local gardening experts. We want to build community, have fun, witness the magic in nature, make growing your own food easy, and be part of something bigger – your food system! Proceeds from our for-fee classes support free gardening classes and resources offered to individuals and families in need.
Course fee is $12.
Registration is capped at 25. Please register to attend this course below.
